This policy explains what Pashtun Global collects when you use this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It describes the site as it actually operates.

Who we are

Pashtun Global is an independent business news platform published at pashtunglobal.com, with its head office at Office 101, Vertex IT Tower, GT Road, Rahim Abad, Mingora, Swat 19130, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. For anything in this policy, write to info@pashtunglobal.com.

What we collect, and when

We collect personal information only when you give it to us, and when you read the site.

  • Reading an article. We record that a page was viewed, the referring address, and a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash lets us count a reader once without storing the address itself.
  • Commenting. We store the name, email address, website and message you submit, together with your IP address and browser user-agent string. The IP address and user agent are kept in full, not hashed, because they are what allow us to block abuse and spam. Your email address, IP address and user agent are never published; your name, website and comment are.
  • The newsletter. We store your email address, any name you give, where you signed up, and a hash of your IP address. Subscription is double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm from a link we email you. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
  • Membership applications, event registrations, award nominations and research downloads. These forms collect the details they ask for - typically name, email, phone, country, company and position - so we can process the application, registration, nomination or download. Registrations and downloads also store a hash of your IP address.
  • Claiming a profile. If you tell us a profile is yours, we store your name, role, email, phone, company, your description of your evidence, and a hash of your IP address. We ask you not to paste confidential documents into that form; if evidence is confidential we request it privately and hold it in the newsroom rather than publishing it.
  • Contacting us. Messages sent through the contact form are emailed to the newsroom. They are not stored in the website database.

Cookies and analytics

A session cookie keeps newsroom staff signed in to the CMS. It is not set for ordinary readers.

We use Google Analytics to understand which coverage is read. Google sets its own cookies and processes that data under its own terms, as an independent controller. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. We do not set advertising cookies ourselves; where third-party ad code appears, it is governed by its own policy.

What we never do

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or sponsors. We do not use your email address for anything other than the purpose you gave it for.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email, or by writing to us.
  • Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
  • Ask us to delete it. We will remove a comment, a profile claim, an application, or contact details you sent us. Where a claim or nomination has already been acted on editorially, we will tell you what has to remain on the record and why.
  • Correct something. If we have a fact about you wrong, tell us and we will check it. Corrections to published coverage are made openly.

Write to info@pashtunglobal.com for any of these.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or what we do with it, we will say so on this page.
