Pashtun Global is governed so that the parts of its work that carry weight - the ranking, the awards, the research and the journalism - are not decided by whoever is paying for the room. This page summarises that structure. It is a working description and is updated as the organisation formalises.

Structure

  • General Assembly. The membership. Reviews the annual report and the organisation’s performance.
  • Board of Directors. Seven to eleven directors carrying defined portfolios - partnerships, research, entrepreneurship, media - with at least one independent director.
  • Advisory Council. Non-executive. Entrepreneurs, investors, academics and industry specialists who advise on strategy. The Council does not control editorial output, rankings or awards.
  • Executive management. Runs strategy, operations, partnerships and budget.
  • Independent committees. The Research Committee, the PGBF 100 Committee, the Awards Jury and the Editorial Board each own their own decisions.

Independence

Pashtun Global is independent of political parties, governments, religious organisations and any single commercial interest. Where a relationship exists, it is disclosed.

Conflicts of interest

Directors, judges, researchers and committee members disclose their interests. Nobody takes part in a decision involving their own company, a close family member’s company, a direct client, a financial interest, or a company where they have a significant personal relationship.

Financial transparency

The organisation maintains annual financial statements and records of donations, sponsorship and programme expenditure, and publishes an annual transparency report where it is legally able to do so.

Editorial independence

Sponsors and advertisers do not control rankings, awards, research findings or editorial coverage. See our policies.
