KARACHI — Pakistan's equity market recorded a significant rebound as investors returned to selected stocks following a decline in international oil prices.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index increased by 1,021.40 points, representing a daily gain of 0.61%, and finished the session at 169,043.20 points.

The recovery followed a period of volatility in which movements in global oil prices and geopolitical developments had affected investor sentiment.

According to market analysis reported by the Express Tribune, lower crude prices helped improve risk appetite among investors. Buying interest was particularly visible in major energy and banking companies.

Pakistan Petroleum, United Bank and Mari Energies were among the companies contributing positively to the index during the session.

Market breadth was also positive, with 72 stocks advancing compared with 27 that declined, according to the market report.

The latest recovery, however, comes within a volatile trading environment. Investors continue to monitor international oil prices, geopolitical developments, currency conditions and Pakistan's broader economic indicators.

For businesses and investors, movements in the stock market can provide an indication of changing expectations about corporate earnings, interest rates and overall economic conditions.

The performance of major sectors, particularly banking, energy and industrial companies, will remain important as investors assess Pakistan's economic outlook.
